I have noticed one maybe two small white dots in the top notification bar. Was seen after starting BitDefender VPN and would like to know WTF these mean. Thanks. Galaxy S8....

The key icon is the common VPN is active icon but no clue as to what that dot icon is for. If you disable the BitDefender VPN sevice, since there's that 'B' icon next to each, do one or both of those two icons go away?

While it is NOT to "worry about", it is an indication of a process or function that would be nice to know about. Now, put your head back in the sand and be happy....

I appreciate the reply's, and I'll add additional info when the dots re-appear... It may be an "nsa dot :-) " , then I'll have to pass out LEAD SANDWICHES............

If my guess it right, it just means that there are other notifications that are less important than the ones that are showing in your status bar.

There are notifications for other apps, but the notifications that are on your status bar now are currently considered more important.

So the dots appear to let you know that there are more notifications that you can't readilly see.

Anyway, if it bothers you, there is a selection available for each app's notifications- Allow notification Dot- that you can turn off.

^this.

When there are too many notifications to fit it puts a dot or dots to show that there are extra notifications. Unfortunately it does this before you actually run out of space because the system is designed to accommodate phones with notches. If you had pulled the notification slide down you'd have seen the extra notifications.

It's been this way since Android 8. No tinfoil required.
