Small ribbon inside Droid incredible 2

I had to replace the LCD screen and external screen in my Son's phone. He died in a car accident and I'm trying to get his phone working. It works but the bottom of the virtual number pad doesn't. I think it has to do with the small ribbon that I don't know where it goes. Help

Sorry to hear about your son. If your carrier's store does repairs, bring it into them and ask them if you overlooked a connector. That's probably what happened. All ribbon cables should be plugged in (or soldered on). None should be "waving in the breeze".
