Help Smart Action worked for long time, now does not

I had a smart action set up on my RAZR since just about day 1 and it has worked everytime - 5 days a week since just about the launch of the phone. but now, with no changes it is not working anylonger.

The action is set up like this

timeframe - 7am - 8:20am. Everyday.
Location - (my work location)

Actions:
- Text my wife letting her know I got to work.
- Notify me the text was sent.

Timing: Send rule at beginning.

I usually get to work around 8 - 815am and within a minute or two the text gets sent to my wife. I have *never* had a problem with this and have never even opened up the action since it was working no problem.

BUT the last few days it is sending the text to my wife right at 7am when I am still at home, and will not send a text when I get to work.

I am not rooted and the phone is up to date.

Any ideas on what the issue is and how to fix? It has been the same and untouched since it has been set up.

First of all, that is bad !!
Did you install any new app ? did you make any changes at all ?
cuz i installed an app and two of my smart actions started acting weird...so did you install any new app from the store?

I'm about to purchase two RAZRs. Are these smart actions apart of the system software or is it an app from the market?
 
OP - Try rebooting the phones. Smart actions stopped working on both of my Razrs when DST changed the time. Rebooting fixed everything for me.

Both ;) They are preinstalled and updated through the market.

I have download, installed, removed more than a few apps. I am usually trying out at least one a day.

I have restarted the phone a few times since this has started happening. Maybe I will try deleting the action and put it in again.

But it is still going on - I was off today and the wife woke me up saying thanks for letting her know I was at work lol.

I had once thought it was the GPS was still thinking I am still at work, like it was not updating for some reason. So the last few nights I have been sure to use either navigation or waze to show me the way home. And also checked in via foursquare, facebook and yelp just to be sure it did update... but this is not the issue as I am still having the problem.

So this is what I will do for right now, set up a second action for the same thing with a different text tonight and leave the first also just to test it out. I shall post an update on what I find.
 
My work smart action has gone a bit wrong of late. Mine is just to mute the handset when I arrive. worked for a few Weeks but now it either doesn't mute or mutes ring but not lock unlock sounds.
 
An update -

Set up a new, exactly the same, action with only different words in the text set up. Left both active to see what would happen.

7am rolls around - BOTH texts get sent out.
Get to work abotu 8:10am - another set of BOTH texts get sent out.

I will leave both active another day to see what heppens, if anything.

From my experience if wi-fi is off the action will not even trigger if wi-fi is off. but yes, I keep it on 100%.

Update on the problem: There was an update for the smart actions app the other day that I had hoped would fix my issue, no luck. Still sending out TWO sets of texts. First one is as soon as the smart action kicks in and also when I get to work.

But today - my normal day off the text still went out at the start of the normal timeframe, but today is not selected as part of the timeframe it should even trigger. This is the first time this has ever happened.

The problem is getting weirder by the day!
 
Im about to stop using Smart Actions as well. It worked at first, but now it just seems to be possessed. For Sleep I have it set to the ringer going down with VIP exceptions. Then in the morning I have it set where the ringer goes up and syncs everything for me. I have other ones too, but they seem to work only when they want and it will really screw with my ringer volume.

Sucks, I was really looking forward to this. Oh well.

What I really do not understand is how it worked like a charm at first now is totally messed up. No phone updates and the one update for SA came after it was already messing up, and that update did not fix it.

I was going to just hold off for ICS that stupid best buy claimed was going to hit... but who knows now when that will happen.

i think the real problem is you being so stuck on sending your wife txt messages when you get to work.

have some faith in each other. space is always good. :)
 
I had a problem where smart actions kept sending an auto text response to people that I was "in a meeting". this went on for days. Every time I disabled the meeting mode, it would turn itself back on. I finally had to uninstall the smart actions app ( while rooted ) just to get it to stop. Since then I have (un-rooted) restored my phone, ( in hopes of ICS ) and haven't had any smart actions problems yet.

Weird thing was, I never put my phone in "meeting mode" in the first place. I had a meeting scheduled in my phones calendar, and I believe Smart actions read it. even after deleting the meeting from my calendar, Smart actions was still stuck in meeting mode...
