Help Smart Actions - Best Practices

I'm at the bottom of my screen...there's no more time scroll ...I dont care about cellular data disabling ..I didn't like it anyway ....I have a data widget if I want to kill data....the only way I'd like it is if I could put a delay on it of a minute or so and Verizon got the data issues totally resolved so it would reliably pick up data after being disconnected.

Make sure you update SA from the market. If that doesn't help you might have a bad flash.

Thank you...I was updated ..for hahas I uninstalled updates, checked the app, ( it didn't change ),and updated again ( it didn't change).I don't have any other issues with the update so I thinking going to leave we'll enough alone for now...

The good news is 1) you appear to be the only person having this issue, and 2) you don't care. Kind of a win win.

I have the smart settings set up to run data during the day...keeps my 3g 4g connection with no need for a toggle. I have had a couple calls that come in that will drop..is this any way related to the smart setting of keeping data flowing? Maybe on 3G and the call comes in and cannot do both. I know the razr can surf and call on 4G.

4G/3G/1x data, basically every data connection other then wifi.

Not true. I have smart action set up when I use wifi, cellular data is disabled. However, I am still able to receive text messages, emails and phone calls when I switch to wifi and the smart action disables cellular data.

Because phone calls and text messages don't use data, and emails are using wifi. As far as i know the only thing you can expect to lose is MMS (picture and video messages). It'd also take more time to transfer data from wifi to 4g/3g.

Is the a way to just turn off 4G using SA, base on a WiFi trigger?

Are you saying you want to use 3g instead of 4g, or you don't want to use 3g either?

You can't use SA to disable 4g while keeping 3g. However you can turn off all the other data when you connect to wifi.

Unless you toggle CDMA Auto PRL instead of global gsm/cdma auto

Wanting to disable 4g and enable 3g via a SA. Sounds like I can't do that via a smart action. Thanks.

DOH! Didn't realize I posted this in the regular razr forum. Ooops. Doesn't really matter, they are essentially the same phone (minus the greater battery in the maxx) and these might help everyone, who knows.

Here's my smart actions and battery life: (I just got the Maxx on thursday, I love it so far!)

Time on Battery: 16h 32m
Display: 3h 37m (39%)
OS: 16%
spotify:13%
Idle: 7%
Cell Standby: 6%
MediaServer: 6%
Browser: 5%
Wifi: 3h 38m (5%)
Calls: (3%)
Temple Run: 3%
Facebook: 3%

Remaining battery: 39% (Awesome if you ask me)

Now for my smart actions:
Default:
Triggers:
Timeframe - 24/7
Actions:
Wifi - OFF
Cellular Data - On
Ringer - 100% + vibrate
background sync - on
Screen Timeout - 15s

Home
Triggers:
Wifi Connection - my wifi
Timeframe: 24/7
Actions:
Ringer-100%
GPS-off

Wifi Connection:
Triggers:
Wifi Connection - ANY
Actions:
Cellular Data - off

Charging:
Triggers:
Charging - Any Source
Actions:
Screen Timeout - 10min

Nighttime Battery Saver:

Triggers:
Timeframe - Daytime (I work nights)
Display - off
Charging - not charging
Motion Detector - no motion
Actions:
Background sync - off
gps - off
wifi - off
bluetooth - off
cellular data-off

Work:
Triggers:
Timeframe - My work hours
Actions:
Ringer volume - silent
bluetooth-off
wifi-off
gps-off

Car:
Triggers:
Headphones connected
Actions:
Launch app: Spotify
Wifi: off

It works like so:
Default is my prefereed settings when I am out and about. When I come home i hit the wifi toggle on my widget which then connects to my home network and runs my home trigger which also runs my wifi trigger that runs when connected to any wifi source and disables cell data. When i leave my home/any wifi and phone loses signal from the network it then reverts back to the default rule and re-enables my cell data and turns off wifi. And when I plug my phone into my radio in my truck it auto loads spotify for me to play my music. Also on days I work I turn off all non-essentials and set phone to silent. And battery saver is for if I forget to plug it in during the day while I'm sleeping it'll keep my battery from draining.

I might set one up that kills all gps/cell data/wifi etc.. when the screen is off and motion isn't detected to keep my phone from using even more juice when it's not being used.

I have a smart action set up when I have wifi at home, data is disabled. One quirk with it is I can still send and receive texts to and from individuals, but I can not send group text messages out. It's says I must have data enabled to send mms. So a group text message is MMS even without sending any file?

Are your HOME and DEFAULT smart actions both on when you are home with this setup? I added them like so and they both show as active when home..

Thanks!!
