Smart Launcher 2 question

I like trying new launchers, and currently playing around with SL Pro 2. It's an interesting take on Android screen presentation, but I'm having one problem and wonder if it is a known issue. Swiping right from the left edge to reveal the drawer works every time, but swiping left from the right edge (to reveal the widget panel) is very flakey. I get the touch "glow" every time, but it only opens the panel about 1 time in 5 attempts. I'm using the Pro version, but the issue existed in the free version as well. I have no touch registration issue with other launchers, and also tried the "Fix widget panel" option (which implies that there are known issues), but it made no difference.

Okay, I found a workaround - swiping up at ~ 270 degree angle (i.e., toward upper-left corner) works every time. But I guess I just don't care for this launcher after all. The categorized app drawer is too inflexible, and takes up too much screen real-estate that would be better used for displaying apps w/o scrolling. Also, moving apps between categories is a one by one, 2-tap then drag/drop process… for each individual app!
