Smart Phone Specs

I am considering buying my first smart phone(android). I notice that some phones spec 802.11 b/g while others spec 802.11 b/g/n for wifi. Does 802.11 b/g/n work better than 802.11 b/g for a smart phone or does it matter? I want to use the phone on a 3G/4G network. Does it matter which spec is used for a hotspot?

N is a much better wireless, however many people already have their wireless G networks running perfectly and don't see any reason to change to N.

N can push up to 600 mbps if its dual band router, where G can only push up to 54. So go with N for the future.

I remember that there's a problem with most current phones not using the full N specification, making them incompatible with certain N routers. It's something about the frequency.

N is a newer spec and is faster. It's better if you have access to N routers/AP's, otherwise there won't be much point to having it.

Not for 3G/4G if that's what you're asking.

Some G devices had problems connecting to N routers running in mixed mode (N and G).
