Smart stay icon appeared, but not working

After doing a factory reset on my Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 I had a smart stay icon appear in my notification bar. The phone never had smart stay before the factory reset. Android version is 4.1.2, both before and after factory reset. Also, when trying to find settings about it, there are no settings to be found anywhere that correspond to smart stay. Smart stay also does not seem to work (screen display turns off after the same amount of time regardless of looking at the screen or not, screen brightness does not change with looking at screen or not, scrolling with my eyes does not work). Anyone know what this means?

did u just flashed new firmware? i remember having the same problem when i flashed XXMF1 i think cant remember which firmware was it exactly.. i solved that problem when i flash XXMG2..

Nope, I only installed Android 4.1.2 on it through Kies about 8 months ago, current android version is still the official Samsung version. The icon appeared much more recently after I did a factory reset.

yup i know, both version that i state on my 1st post were official aswell.. uhm i used to update my phone via kies but after i tried updating using odin i would prefer updating ur device thru odin it's safer and faster.. look for smokey's post on how to update ur device thru odin and try xxmg2 thats official firmware and u can download it on samsungs official site
