smart stay

ive only had my s5 for a couple of days.... but the smart stay will not work. It pops up, I see the eye, but my screen always turns off, no matter where I have my face. Any tips to correct this?
 
Have no clue as mine works as it should when I have it enabled. I would take the phone back and have them look at it. Mary
