I just got a Moto X Pure Edition and I need to switch my data from my Galaxy S3 to the Moto X, but it's saying that the Moto X is saying it's only a sending device. Help?

Smart Switch is a program made by Samsung to transfer files to Samsung phones. It doesn't work the other way around. Samsung ain't going to help you move away from them.

Out of curiosity.. what data is it that you are actually trying to switch..
My photo's live on the cloud (or sd card)
Same for my music..
I'd want to pick and choose the apps anyway, so I'd go to the play store on my pc, and pick the ones I want
contacts and calendar are covered by Google or Microsoft

Just the fact that Smart Switch is basically one touch transfer of documents, pictures, music, contacts, apps. Other than the convenience, that's just it.
