is there any way i can get my smart watch 2 to work with my Mytouch q made by Huawei? i originally had a sony xperia z1 but it was destroyed in the gym .. like can i root it and upgrade it to kit kat or something ... any ideas or is this a lost hope?

The SW2 will only work with Android phones running v4.x onwards, so unless the Mytouch Q has received such an update you're out of luck I'm afraid.

The first thing is to check whether anyone has made a (stable) KitKat ROM for that phone - or at least an ICS (4.0) ROM. I've glanced at XDA-Developers and they don't seem to have a forum for the device, which isn't a good sign but doesn't necessarily mean that nobody has done it somewhere else.

P.S. Welcome to the forum :)

if you google "how to upgrade my touch q to kit kat" a link pops up to sonykitkatrom.blogspot.com is this a legit rom

is this a legit rom

I wouldn't touch it with a 10' pole while wearing surgical gloves. ;)

The first warning sign is "Sony" - what have they got to do with anything related to Huawei? Then there's the fact that every "guide" is an identical cut-and-paste, even down to the three links supposedly for the ROM.zip. Whether it's Android 1.6 or 4.4, regardless of device, the files are the same. That's simply wrong.

edit: the links are actually AdFly-hosted, which means the uploader gets a kickback every time the file is downloaded. That's even more suspicious... I'm tempted to d/l just to find out what's in there.

well if you have the urge in you to see whats up let me know what happens ha... but ill probly just have to get a diff phone as i head to the gym my watch is good for time and a stop watch .... :( but maybe just maybe ill find a rom
