[The Thing]

I really really don't want to ask the person that sent me a screenshot with 2 of these heart icons at the top...

I know it's possible that it could be a fitness app but still I want to know for sure.

They use an S8+ phone.

All help is appreciated.

we get this question a lot. in fact i just answered a similar question before this one.

there are over a million apps, each with its own icons. add in the fact that you can opt in to be notified by certain websites will add many more icons to the list. so trying to determine what icon belongs with which app or website is almost like finding a needle in the haystack.

the phone is the only true way of finding out what it is.

it depends on if you allowed the app to notify you of things. if you turned off notifications for that app then it should not notify you at all. it is rare that a glitch or bug to happen where it will turn on an app's notifications randomly. once notifications are off, it should stay off until you toggle it back on.

ads? never seen an ad popup on the notification bar. i have seen websites send notifications to your phone however....maybe that is what you are talking about?

Is there any other reason why this would appear on the notification bar other than a person using this app at the moment

the app does not have to be used to be sending notifications. if the app is allowed notifications then it will send them to the phone.
