SMS Backup Challenges

Hi, I'm new to the forum and to the Android (former bb user). I need to send sms text messages to my email account. I've downloaded the SMS Backup app for the android which transfers text messages to my gmail account. Here's the problem . . . it worked fine the first time I used the app, the emails were there! When I tried to back-up after, I get a message that "there are no messages to back-up". I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and tried renaming where to save the text messages. Still, same message, "no messages to back-up" even though the last SMS back up was August 21. The messages ARE backed up to my SD card so, now what? Try a different SMS backup app? I don't have a laptop that has a place to insert a mini SD card so, can't back-up that way. Can anyone help? Thanks for your time!

Welcome to AF! :)

Your laptop might not take the SD Card on it's own, but you could attach the phone to the PC as an external disk drive (select USB Storage from the notification bar), you should be able to copy the data across that way.

You could also try clearing the data and cache of the backup app via Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All -> SMS Backup -> Clear Data & Cache.
