Help SMS Error 2114

Hi all, I'm new to the forums, but I've had my Samsung Galaxy Prevail for Boost since June or July. I haven'd had any issues really, up until now.

My girlfriend just got an LG Optimus or Virgin Mobile just the other day. She can text anyone and they can text her back no problem. She can text me, and i recieve the messages, but when i go to reply, i get a text message from 9230 saying that i have sent the message to in invalid number and to use 10 digits in the number. This is understandable - when she texts me, i recieve the messages from her phone number, however there is no area code attatched. I saved her number in my contacts with the area code, however it constantly reverts back to having no area code.

I have tried the following:
----Delete her contact and message thread, then turn off phone and leave battery out for ~10 minutes. Create a new message and input the area code before the number (even a 1 and then the area code), and then the message gets sent. She can send me messages and i can reply to them, as long as i NEVER leave the message thread to look at another message. I can go to the home screen, go on the web and do everything that doesnt pertain to the messaging program; when i go back to the message app, it still opens up the same thread, area code intact. If i hit the back key, it goes to view all message threads, and when i reopen her thread, the area code is GONE, as is my ability to message her, unless i delete the thread and make a new one with the area code.

----Delete contact and message thread, then redo her contact info with area code. From contacts, i tapped the send message key. it opens up the messaging app, but her area code is not part of the phone number. I dont have this problem with any of my other contacts.

I called boost, and they told me to update my profile and prl. This did not fix the problem.

I dont know what to do. I searched online for message error 2114, and it seems irrelevant to my problem, being as that these people just had to put an area code in and their problem was solved. I dont know why my phone is acting up.

I thought i had a smart phone? why do i need to go through these steps to send a text message?? Please help!!
