Hello boyo1991.

Have you tried a different sms app yet? Could be corruption in whichever one you're using.

Do you see that error message while traveling? Or is it occurring in a predictable region/neighborhood around your home area?

It sounds like a tower error, with the transmitting apparatus having trouble capturing the signal, which most often happens in the above two circumstances (although the actual showing of that particular error message is rare).

Another possibility is that you need to have a look in the section of your menu that offers the "global" choice along with "local" or whatever wording your device uses. Think about any changes you've made, even new apps or widgets that might generate a service which seeks to dominate the device's signal input/output. Some configuration in those apps/widgets may be necessary.

Malfunction also comes to mind; your device may need a factory data reset. Hope not.. but if you do that be sure to back up all the things you need, with the exception of the newest installations so you don't import the problem right back into the device after the fresh start from the reset.

[edit] I thought I'd edit in one other thought, based on my own experience a while back with another device: I was having intermittent issues with texts not arriving for hours or my own not being sent (no error messages), so I removed the sim card (not the sd card) briefly, just for a few seconds, then put it right back in. The issues never occurred again with months of use. You might give that a try before the hard reset. ;)

Thanks for the input.. I had actually just got this new phone.. it rarely does it now so I'm hopeful it was just a fluke!

The HTC EVO 4G radio error is a known issue. I do believe an update solving that is out there. Try searching under that particular phone's category.
