SMS forwarding

[tcat007]

Is there a way (app) that will forward an SMS from a phone (Optimus-V) to a wifi tablet (Galaxy Player)? Now that I have a 5" screen, I seldom use my phone, but once a month I get a text from VM. I would like to get that text in Google Voice (or some other SMS app) on my Player.

Get a Google Voice or HeyWire number for your wifi tablet. Then use dgAway or PhoneLeash to forward to it from your phone.

dgAway looks like it should work... I have GV on both devices already and use it for texting. I assume dgAway goes on the phone. Will it auto forward (without waking the phone up?). I guess I'll try it and find out. Thanks!

edit... it works, but the phone has to be in wifi or 3g mode, so doesn't help (I have the phone in airplane mode 90% of the time). Maybe PhoneLeash intercepts the calls and forwards to both numbers... but looks like you have to pay for that. Need forwarding at the VM server!

Oh, I didn't understand that the phone was w/o wifi or data when you needed this to occur. In that case, PhoneLeash won't help. I switched from dgAway to PhoneLeash because the former left a copy of the forwarded text in the native messaging app.
