Help SMS from field messed up

Hi- I recently upgraded my Moto G to Lollipop. Today I found that a large number of SMS messages have their From fields changed to a random name from my contact list. When I delete that contact, the from field takes up another name! Any idea why this is happening?

Did you Wipe Cache Portion (deleting all temporary data and not douching permanent data, settings, or apps you added) after upgrading?

Wiped cleae cache but problem remains

Looking at it closely, I find that only messages that have not come from an actual number i.e.. those that have text-only From fields e.g from banks, etc have the From field replaced by a contact name. Others are unaffected

Just kept deleting each contact displayed in the From field. Found that all of them had a cross-listing on Outlook.com. Problem seems solved for now. Keeping fingers crossed for the future..
