Help SMS lock screen

I was just wondering has any one been able to get the "1 message" notification on the lock screen to go away when not using the default messenger. Its super annoying and I was hoping with the vast knowledge here someone might have found a work around. Thanks in advance for any input.

I stopped using custom SMS apps because I couldn't get rid of that notification. :/

i think if you use an alternate lock screen like widget locker or no lock(?) I think it removes most of the default information from the lock screen.
