Help sms messages not coming thru until i press home button to turn on screen?!

Right, i'll have full signal, phone is on and locked but the screen is off. Someone could send me several text messages and i get no indication that i have recieved any. until i press the home button to turn on screen to unlock, then all of a sudden the texts come thru. I have no idea why this happens, Anyone else experienced the same problem?

The first thing I would advise doing is running a software update on the handset, but I can tell you this is the first time I have seen this particular issue:

If you are using a battery saver type app this is most likely what the problem is....

Or if youre using an auto task killer which is killing the notification process.
