SMS new message notification wont leave!

A few days ago I got a Mytouch Q through tmobile. Its an LG phone I just don't know the model number. Its been working fine until today when it notified me of a new text message and I don't have one.

I've tried rebooting, deleting all messages and using the sms cleaner and nothing has worked. Does anyone have any other ideas for me?

Hi tmkinzer. Welcome to Android Forums! I have had this happen before and found that SMS cleaner didn't work for me either. I did find that Reset Unread SMS worked though. Let me know if it helped.

Did you install a 3rd party sms app?
If so you have to make sure you disabled notifications for the stock app.
