SMS notification light settings?

When my galaxy s3 is off and I get a text message I noticed that it turns my phone on and lights up the home screen. But it is only on for about 2 seconds. Not nearly fast enough for me to be able to catch it. Is there anyway in settings to have it stay on for a longer?

You could try using something other than the default messaging app. Like a different one like Hancent SMS or Go SMS Pro they might have settings where you can change this...

Otherwise you could try using a program like Light Flow to change the colors and possibly the duration of notifications.

Another vote for you to try the free version of Lightflow in the Play Store.

It will change everything about your SMS notifications (and more). YOu will be able to change the ringtone per user, the frequency of the flash, how often it flashes and for how long. Also the LED color depending on your hardware.
