Help SMS Notification on tiny status bar?? Need help to change

Hey guys new to the forum, just got this LG Eve for my gf, wondering, if anyone can help with this dillema,

Every a text message is recieved it only shows a tiny little blurb on the status bar notification....is it possible to have a large main display of the text message, intstead of that little crappy notification///something like the iphone has when a text happens, Please help android people, THX Joel

Never mind, I found an app that is amazing and works just like if not better then the iphones SMS features, its called SMS Pop up

yeah, great app...
been using it for about a week now.
popup with or without full text, repeat notifications, voice-to-text, etc.

Ohh yeah, havent tried the voice to text part, I tihnk my girlfriend would hate that part, she loves to type on the phone, and I did give the phone to her
