I want to have my text messages pop up in the middle of my phone like the iPhone because I like to see it while driving without having to touch the phone. I installed SMS Popup but it still pops up in the notification bar. I even went into the built-in messaging settings to disable notifications but it still does the same. How do I get it to popup in the middle? btw I didn't like Handscent because of all the ads.
 
Actually GoSMS Pro Pops up in the center. I use this myself...and it works fairly well.

I'm not seeing any ads in Handcent. Maybe I am blind?
 
Most SMS apps optionally do that, as does SMS Popup if we are talking about the same app (names are not unique). Suggest checking your settings.

As for Handcent, apps are in the menu, so once you've set it up you don't see them.
