Help sms scroll error

[Kymberly]

Hi,
I am having an issue with the phones sms scrolling across the top of the screen.
I click on the message (it has only happened with this one message) which usually opens up the message to read, but, in this instance it is opening the application that initiates when you hit 'new message' .. so there is the field for the phone number and the message.
I of course hit the 'clear' button but the message only removes for around 30 seconds and it back, scrolling across the top of the screen.
I have:
1 Cleared the cache
2 Deleted the contact
3 Taken battery, sim and memory card out for 10 mins.
Nothing works.
Can anyone tell me why the sms continues to display and 'not load' and not allow removal by regular means?

Thank you.

Are you using the stock app or a third party app like Handcent?

The only thing I know is that I have an android keyboard (touch).

Does this help?

Not hugely! I can't get my phone to reproduce an sms scrolling across the top of the screen unless I am using Handcent SMS. With the stock app I only get an envelope shown in the notification bar.

Someone had a problem with notifications having installed a third party app that caused this as a side effect. What have you downloaded from the Android Market on to your phone... this might give me a clue as to which one is causing the problem.

If it isn't this then I am a bit stumped, it might be that you will have to go the factory reset root to try and get rid of it but that is a bit drastic at this point.
