Help SMS showing up in email app

Hi all,

New to the forums and new to android in general (just made the switch from iphone :-) ). The only thing I can't figure out so far on my nice new shiny note 2 is why my text messages show up in the email app? I have my Gmail configured in the gmail app and my work exhange email configured in the stock email app - that all works fine - but for some reason, when I receive a text message, it shows up in both the messages app and the email app. And its really annoying lol.

Has anybody else experienced this? Does anyone please know how to fix this so that they only show up in the email app?

Some OEM's have created a "messages" app, that can show all your emails/texts in one application. Sounds to me like that might be the case. Are you sure there's no specific "text messaging" app? Only reason i suspect this, is due to my Motorola Photon having something similar.

Hmmm, ok, in that case, only other thing I can think is, do you use google voice? I think there's a setting on google voice that allows text messages to be sent to your email. Other than that, nog sure why else you'd be getting texts on your email app.
