Prior to upgrading from original Droid to Droid 3, I could send the phone a text message from Windows Live Messenger running on the PC (Windows XP), and the phone (Droid 1) could respond to the text message.
Since upgrading to the Droid 3, any text message sent from any of the PC's running Windows Live Messenger will be received by the phone, but a response sent from the phone is never received back by the Windows Live Messenger on the PC. The Droid 3 says the message has been sent, and no error has occurred, but the PC has not received the message.
The Droid 3 can send and receive texts from other phones, both using the stock messenging app, as well as Handcent app. The only way to get the phone to respond to Windows Live Messenger was to install the Windows Live app on the phone, and then use this app for the conversation.
Is there something missing, or a workaround needed, or is this a way to get us to use Windows Live Messenger as the texting app on the Droid 3?
