So According to this Article, I'm a Fool.....

What a swell fella.

I know I'm a newb to smart phones and have a very limited knowledge of the cell phone industry but thats not nice Chuck.

Mr Sorrel mentions in this article that iPhone updates are controlled directly from Jobs but that Android updates are held up by carriers who would rather you buy a new phone to get a new OS. Fine, aside from N1 users, I suppose thats somewhat true:confused:. Yet, right after that, he goes on to say.....

"And while you’d probably be foolish to buy a Nexus One now that you can have the Droid or any number of better phones......"

Wired Froyo Update Article

Aren't we holding a phone that many of us purchased 'because' we don't want to deal with the carrier BS and contracts that he kinda mentions?

I don't know, maybe I'm over thinking it:confused::p:D

Yeah, I read that article, too. Obviously, he has never used a Nexus or he'd know better! He needs to clean his i-glasses.

I wonder what he'll be saying about all the new FroYo features just added?

Oh god...you can tell the writer is an Apple fan boy.

Google has finally pushed Android 2.2 Froyo to its otherwise abandoned Nexus One handset

haha if it's Abandoned as per quote, why the HECK would it be the FIRST phone to be updated to the newest OS!

I am putting that site on my black list of BS narrow mindedness site!

Awww, c'mon Rose. Have a little sympathy for the technologically challenged folk who can't handle thinking and chewing at the same time (hence the drool stains on his chair).

This guy is the PERFECT candidate for the iPhone and iOS where everything is always the same (whether it works or not) and everyone using them follows the same regimented pattern of behavior, sharing the same user experience. He can't determine what's good or valuable on his own so he relies on being told by the marketers of Apple, Nike and Kellogs (to name a few).

The truly sad part is that other people might actually believe his drivel.

Ignorant people are the worst...especially when they spread their ignorance to other people -_-; I feel contrite for people that believe in articles like these.

That is more of an opinion than an article (even one for a blog). I wouldn't mind as much if the article was ACTUAL critism to the Nexus One but as Kurisu stated, he simply contradicted himself.

i'd still buy a nexus one today, it's scorching w/ froyo on it!

i love the docks and everything else... it's a great phone!

Does the guy who wrote this not realise that the 2g and 3g iPhone isn't getting the os4 update so his beloved iPhone now also has owners who must buy new phones to get the latest goodies?

Obviously not, you can tell he is 100% brainwash. Apple does no wrong ;)

I figure, if you have a Nexus One, updating manually when the links are released shouldn't be hard for you. Nobody got a Nexus One because "the T-Mobile / AT&T store had a discount last weekend". You had to go out of your way to get one.

If you can't install a manual update, maybe you DO need to go get an iPhone...
