Root So how can i overclock?

Hi, i have an optimus elite, rooted with poot. How can i go about overclocking? it slows down and lags when playing temple run and other 3d games. I also would like to have apps start faster and such. So is there i guide that i can follow to overclock this? I looked around and i couldnt find one.

Also, i don't want CM9 because i rely on the camera on this phone daily.
[edit] i dont have a custom recovery or kernel, btw, its just rooted. So please help me on the next step i should take after i root it.

You need a custom kernel to overclock, its not possible to overclock through the stock kernel. Look to see what available kernels exist for your Elite. Or maybe a rom out there has an over clockable kernel

Go to the guide on how to root this phone and download giant punes custom cwm recovery installer app. Put it on your phone run it and you'll have clockworkmod recovery. Then flash something like sleipnir or harmonia and your good to go!

Thanks, i just flashed sleipnir, so what step should i take after this? It seems to be working fine but how can i over clock in sleipnir?

Now you will need an application that will allow you to overclock the kernal. No Frills CPU is what most people here use, and is free from the Play Store.

Thanks! So i just installed that. Which governer do you guys suggest i use? I am currently using preformance, but i want something that can save battery life when the screen is locked and what not. What do you think the best governer to use is?

I use smartassv2 with Max set at 1.613, Min set at 460, and I/O scheduler set to noop. Seems to work good for me.
