So.. How did you sleep?

An interesting app I found on the play store called sleep not. It tracks everything that you do in your sleep and when you set an alarm it will wake you up during your lightest sleep phase so you won't wake up in a bad mood anymore.

The app tracks your movement, the sounds, how long your actually asleep, and overall its just awesome. Its an app recognized by some health organization.

So... How did you sleep last night?

A colleague had an app similar to that years ago on a 2nd gen iPhone. All the graphs seemed to show was when his girl friend stayed over

I'd hate to see what the results would be in my room, my dogs sleep on my bed (sometimes one, sometimes both!) two snakes that are nocturnal so cruising around and two parakeets in there that chatter and flutter a bit at night.
I'm not a good sleeper anyway but I'm sure the app would want to call the local sleep center and my Dr. based on the results

I actually reviewed this app a while ago and I found it to be pretty good, although I didn't really notice a big difference between this and using the 3 hours + 90 minutes rule.
I guess this app should be much more reliable and accurate so YMMV. The fade-in alarm and sleep debt calculator are also great.

thanks sfbloodbrother...

looks interesting.. been looking for something like this...

the name of the app is: "sleepbot"

I will try it out.

Interesting :) Do you leave it on your bed next to you at night? What about battery life? (I guess that would be moot if I charge my phone at night).

Yes you leave in on your bed and it uses all the sensors and mic to track how you sleep. If you have dogs or some other animal that sleeps with you it won't give you accurate results.

As for battery you should have it connected to your charger while you sleep. It is using all the sensors to calculate how you sleep so if you don't have it on the charger it will die on you before you wake up.

I'll give it a try, only thing is a sleep on a hard bed, basically a wooden box with foam rubber on top, typical for China. So if it's lying on my bed it's not going to be getting much movement at all, if any.

how long did it take u to get used to that bed?

or is that why you have a sleeping issue?

Immediately.

It's the usual domestic bed in China. In fact reading on Trip Adviser I'm sure number one complaint from foreign tourists staying in hotels*, hard beds. :D ...as well as smoking.

I'm going to bed now, I'll try the SleepBot app, see what happens.

*unless they're coughing up for a Hyatt or Sofitel or something.

so.. you prefer those harder types of beds?
I like a firm mattress, but that is taking it to the next level.

several billion Chinese cant be wrong :P

That was every bed I had in the Philippines as well. Sounds worse than it really is.

For me, it was almost immediately. The first night I slept on one, I was out within 60 seconds. Might have been due to jet lag though, and the fact that I led a very tiring life in the Philippines.

I've used apps like this in the past, but don't care to have my phone on my bed. I move around a LOT and am liable to break my phone.
