So how would you use your computer to root your Flex if you're running Linux?

I saw a couple threads about rooting an Android Tablet using Kingo(IIRC that was the name) but it was Windows only so my question is, if you're running Linux and want to use your computer to root your tablet then is there something you can download and run that'll work like Kingo?
I'm running Ubuntu MATE currently although I've ran just about anything you can think of including Arch with a MATE DE. I have the NS-15AT07, NS-15AT08 and the NS-14T004 and I'd like to root them so I can remove some Google apps that just won't go away otherwise but I'd like to do it the safest way that I can(not with Towelroot or some other bogus app) and figure that tethering to my laptop would be safer then other ways of rooting. Anyway, any ideas that ya'll can give would be helpful. Thanks.
