Help So I changed the channel on my Wifi. . .

Every time I turned on the cordless phone, or the microwave, or opened the garage door it jacked up the wireless router signal. We would have to reboot the router to get it back up. It was set to channel 6, and I changed it to channel 11. So all appears to be good now with running the phone/microwave/garage door.

But NOW. . .the EVO's (mine and GF's) wont connect to the router! I erased the old stored info and re-entered the the info, and it still wont connect. The laptop and X-box are fine after redoing the set up for the router. So why not the EVO's???

I would suggest trying a splinter channel. Most routers tend to be on channels 1, 6 or 11 - a channel other (and further away) from those channels may yield better results. 3 and 9 are two that I tend to use.

nermel is right - for example, everyone in my neighborhood uses channel 11! I switched to channel 1 and now it works much better, especially as you get further away from the router. I used the wi-fi analyzer app to look at what other people were using, that is the most important part - to choose a channel as far away from the others as possible.
