what should I expect... Im coming from a windows 7 phone (ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE) I had the surround... and was wondering what the general consensus is about this phone... and is it easy to root?

Easy to Root, and great device.
The only gripe I have is the poor speakerphone.
Otherwise, I'm loving my inspire.

Inspire is amazing.

Only issues I see are kinda low speaker volume and battery life isn't the greatest. Not big enough issues for me to get rid of the phone though, I love this thing!

Yes, rooting will allow installs from unknown sources.

A nice phone indeed, but I couldn't make myself like this phone any longer with a 2 year contract and a 2gb cap on data. no freaking way (no 3g here either - - att said April 1, NOT!)

u could expect another solid android device by HTC yet again. they don't dissapoint with this. easy to use UI combined with great customization features can't go wrong with this phone. although if your a heavy user you may need to be near a wall outlet often or carry a spare battery with you, because battery life can get pretty ridiculous.

I also love this phone. Best phone I ever had. Definitely better than iPhone or blackberry. But I agree, the speaker is awful. It even makes the new Beastie Boys album sound not great. That is a hard thing to do, because that is one amazing album. Mamamamamamamamamamamamamamamike D!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had my Inspire 4G for about 2 weeks now and I love this thing far more than I ever did my iPhone, truthfully.

The speakerphone is a non-issue for me as I don't use it as a media/mp3 player.....yet. Opinion may change if i start to, lol.

Battery was a little lacking at first, once I rooted the phone, installed Titanium Backup Pro and removed the bloatware from the phone, the battery has been pretty damn solid since. I haven't even installed Juice Defender or any of those kinds of apps; haven't noticed a need.

But anyways, loving Android and this phone, hope you do too.
