So many Droids and im confused!!! (switching from Iphone)

iTunes is NOT a good program. Load time is terrible(Try loading iTunes, Winamp, And Windows Media player at the same time, iTunes comes in last by at least 15/20 Seconds.)

Its also a memory hog, not that *I* have a problem.

(8GB of RAM)

You may want to have your computer looked at then because I just did both WMP and iTunes ten times each and:

WMP around 3-5sec to open and using 19,464k
iTunes around 4-8sec to open and using 40,316k

That seams on par with each other and 40,316k is by no means a "memory hog", your browser alone is using in the ball park of 150,00k. If you just don't like the look and fell of iTunes just say that. Don't make up a story.

Nope, I run Win7 64-bit. Perfectly stable thing, and unless you buy your machine pre-built from some store that loads it up with crapware, there's no bloat about it. It's called "I know what the hell I'm doing with my computer."

iTunes? Shit. Godawful, pointless crapware. Hell, even some Mac users think of it that way. I guess if you've got an iPhone, you're SOL and stuck with it, but otherwise why would anyone ever want to install that rubbish on their computers?

Wait so your going to sit there and tell me Windows is not a bloated operating system? I don't even know where to start with that.....

Bloated compared to what? *nix? That's about the only valid "non-bloat" OS. Pity you can't do squat with it due to the lack of drivers and having to run what little you can through Wine, which is about as pleasant as gouging out your eyeballs and eating them raw.

I'm switching too...

Getting the droid now is good because you can get it for $25 if you sign up for a 2yr contract if you buy it on amazon.com. It isn't the latest and greatest, but the early adapter issues should be worked out by now.

Getting the latest and greatest is fun, but head on over to the Nexus one forums- dust under the screen, reception issues, display issues, etc may make it a headache- especially when you have to mail the phone to get it serviced and customer support nil. New and sexy, yes, but there can be issues. Unless of course the rumors are true and Verizon will sell/service the N1 in their stores. The next one up is the HTC Incredible- this may be a better bet since this will be sold in stores and service will be in-store as well in the event that something goes wrong.

I'm waiting for the N1 (have to read reviews first before I buy) or the Incredible. I'm in a bit of a spot since I have to go job hunting soon and I don't want companies saying the usual things people say when they call me, "I called you three times today but I got no answer." Or during the conversation, "I'm sorry, I have a bad connection... beep, beep, beep" x 5.

Those experiencing issues are the minority. They just seem more numerous and louder because, on average, people complain more than they praise, and if their N1s are functioning perfectly fine, they won't have any reason to come to a forum looking for solutions.

Take a look at the Droid or Milestone forums. Behold threads about touchscreen sensitivity being broken, the proximity sensor being broken, the power button being broken, and and and and and.

Ifixed every problem with my droid exept 2.....

1. Wifi not working correctly, came to find out there is a 70 page thread and im not the only one ...faulty motorola programming or chipsets. Thats gonna be a hard one to get around.

2 the signal sucks bad on my house...like horribly bad and they told me to buy a device for 250$ that will help me on my home...... UM WHAT! ok i guess the 30 day trial is not so bad after all!

im calling today again , if they cant fix any of these ...i may be looking into a different phone or maybe going back to my iphone. not as customizable but it does work perfectly everywhere with everything...

Its sad cause my fiancee is in love with her droid and so am i....but signal and no wifi is a big issue..
