So many problems!!!

Hey all, not too sure where to begin. My One X gets extremely hot to the touch, drops calls, comes up with the message "preparing sim" ,loses all signal completely......I think that's about it! I'm 9months into a 2 year contract with Orange or EE as they are now known, I'm on my fourth phone as they all seem to develop the same issues. I've had a new SIM card and no different, I've asked for a different model replacement but all I've been offered is the first Samsung Note, which I feel is a backward step.Does anybody know of some kind if fix for my One X as a last ditch attempt to keep it?

I've never had heat issues with the One X. It must have something to do with your usage as this is your 4th?

Are you using your device while charging?
Not using your device while on the charge would be a good start if you do so. Expectionally on a car charger unless absolutely necessary. Heat is a 'killer' in the long run.
 
There was only one condition where I ever had my HOX overheating (to the point that the LED started to blink red and green) Which was driving, with the GPS in navigation mode, while plugged in, in a very thick, non-breathable case.
 
A friend fried their phone because they were using it as a router while they were charging it. Heavy use + charging = too much heat.

I had a "preparing SIM" issue with my HTC Aria that never went away. But that phone couldn't keep up with much, so I didn't think anything of it. Have you tried uninstalling apps?
 
I've had issues with my phone getting overly warm when I leave the GPS function on. Otherwise, no problems with overheating. My biggest gripe is with the weak battery life.

Grab the app wakelock detector. Check out the cpu wakeup list. It shows you anything that is waking your phone and will help you find anything that might be too busy for its own good.

Install. Get a good full charge and see what's happening.
