Damn, i just found out about this... i hope they dont run out. Also to those that got one, did you pay shipping & handling? If you did, how much was it?
 
There's no caps locks button which isn't a huge deal, and the mousepad is very sensitive and sometimes inaccurate..Other than that this thing is fantastic and comes with a web cam!

It was free, I didn't even know I was getting it they dont send you a E-mail or call you before hand. Imagine my surprise when I came home and there was a package on my doorstep.

Actually I was out of town alllll day, I live in an apartment building so im lucky it didn't get snatched sitting there all day.

I applied two days ago.
 
Google’s Cr-48 Chrome notebook now shipping (and arriving) to beta testers

there's some stats. the first things i see is:

vga instead of dvi :big fat sad face:

one usb :(

battery doesn't sit flush and is a pain to get back out.

it's mainly made for internet/cloud use...i think rdp/vnc is gonna be my biggest gripe

the good is that it is very responsive, has a cam and mic, the construct actually feels pretty solid, has an sd slot, and it is google :)

oh yeah and we get 100mb a month of 3g via verizon for 2 years FREE :D
 
yeah one side is kinda sunk in and the other side has a lip...nothing too huge :/ an annoyance if anything...

im pretty sure using the web cam has to do with the app you're using. check the store.

its not that i'm not thankful...tbh they don't don't want thankful they want feedback that's gonna make the product better

Looks like they got about 60,000 units to give away.

Has anyone received an email that says they didn't qualify?

I hope I get one, it'll be like when I won the Samsung Behold II in the Behold II giveaway but much much better.
 
I got my info in last night about an hour short of the deadline, hope I qualify! I'm rocking a 6+ year old, 8 lb Compaq with an AMD chip that just doesn't run so great anymore, I could really use a new unit!
 
if these ever go on sale, i wonder how much they'll cost, i am guessing less than $100 dollars because of the lack of things you can do with it.
