Has anyone been looking into changing anything on the phone from stock, aside from freezing/removing unwanted stock apps?
I notice our camera app is devoid of a few functions.
Like the video recorder does not have the effects buttons.
I see that we do have the background animations in /system/media/video though.
I have not yet found a videorecorder apk from another ICS phone to try swapping it out with.
I did find google's moviestudio.apk but it worked baddly on this phone
displayed wrong on the screen so not very useful, though it technically did work and run.
I did pull the voice control app from a galaxy S3, it did work fine, not useful as we have one already, but was interesting to see it actually did function.
I noticed our phones have no bootsound binary, so no startup sounds even if you put the ogg file in the right place or even call it up in the boot animation.
Still looking to see if i can find that binary and make it work (and not brick the phone)
Changing the UI sounds is a piece of cake, we do not have as many sound calls as other phones, but that is more the ui apps themselves, not the phone.
I found you can safely remove all the unwanted ringer, alarm, notification sounds, if you want to gain some wasted internal space. Just leave the default sound or add your own named in the default name.
Same goes for wallpapers
