So This Is What Happens When You Run Out Of Internal Memory...

So today, December 6, 2008, I was checking my internal memory, and apparently it ran out, all the way down to zero! So I would like to title this thread:

"So This Is What Happens When You Run Out Of Internal Memory..."

So here is what it looks like when you completely run out of internal memory...

And then this is what happens with your applications!

The browser crashes..

The calender crashes..

I can't check my Gmail or Text messages..

And I can't open many of the applications I have downloaded.

Checking my phone with the DDMS found in the Android SDK...

I kept getting this when i tried to open an application:
crashct2.jpg

"Failure 13 (Database or disk full)"

So this brings me back to my point, when people start running out of internal memory, the phone will become useless (although I was still able to make calls).

So Google,

Please figure out a way to allow us G1 owners to run applications from our external memory cards.

Love,

Everyone with a G1.

P.S.
I'll be expecting my free google stickers in the mail soon. tnx. =]

Merry Christmas everyone!

I think this is something that everyone is desperate for but I must admit I haven't got near to running out yet, I think the lowest I have been is around 23mb.

I don't download lots of applications though, I look read and if it's not for me then I don't download (I'm choosy) but I can see how easy it is to fill the phone memory up quickly.

I'm just wondering what the motivation was for Android to restrict applications being installed to the SD in the first place?

Could it be a DRM or application protection thing? I know the root has been hacked for the phone memory but I wonder if they can't protect the card in the same way so won't let you install anything to it as people would be able to "share" when things are purchased as opposed to everything being free at the moment.

Thing is, it really is too restrictive and will restrict the kind of developments that application designers can come up with if they don't sort something out and let people install to the card.

Everyone probably has a list of wants and would likes but at the end of the day I bet this one isn't far from the top of everyone's list.

okay first off, how do you do a screen shot?

and this afternoon i got a thing saying my sim card was full and i never realized texts were getting saved to it...so it let me open them and delete like one..how do i get back there? i went thru sim card under settings and it's not it

Interesting you got that far down....is it that low and the Market is cleared? Mine clears the market before it gets that low.

I don't own a G1 specifically for this reason but I REALLYYYYY do hope that they come out with a fix for this because I download ALOT onto my phones and not having the ability to store programs/documents/music/anything on the MICRO SD card will suck!

Documenst/photos/music, CAN be stored on the SD card, its only android applications that have to be stored "in phone"

This makes me happier that I'm a Touch Pro user. I'd hate to have to go through that. But I do hope the request gets fulfilled.

i get alot of error screens like yours and I'm nowhere close to running out of memory.. meh
