Root So when's ICS coming?

I know i am tired of waiting for this update, This is the only thing i hate about android so many phones and makers of phones make it impossible to know when your OS will be updated.
 
Can't say for sure but my AT&T rep said the GS2 might be getting it this or next week. Which means the Note wont be to far behind as the new ICS Galaxy tablets are also being shipped to the stores.
 
My daughter got it last month on her htc amaze and my wife will be getting it on her t-mobile gs2 on the 11th and here i set with no idea when i'm get it on my note.
 
I'm getting antsy waiting too. I saw this article and hope it won't pertain to the AT&T ICS update, or cause further delay. :vollkommenauf:
 
With this long of a wait i hope it's not disappointing hopefully good things do come to those who have waited a long ass time..
 
In reality all you should need to do is look in the forums on XDA and download the latest ICS leak. There is no need for root and you will be on ICS. Its awesome and runs great! I did this and from there it was all root for me! I ended up rooting the device and installing a custom ROM! Couldn't be happier with it! Once you get the Leak, I am sure when the actual ICS comes out, if your not able to get the OTA, it will be out on XDA for you to put on there just like the leak! Hope this helps!!!
 
@brandon... Hmmm, you're tempting me! But I feel deep down that the official ICS must be so close now since the leak is so good. And this is the last month before the end of the promised Q2 deadline. If they somehow "delay" it again for "sometime in Q3, then I'll be sure to install the leak. :)

This is what I've been thinking exactly. Been so close to trying the leak, but I keep chickening out.

Telus in Canada just this week delayed their ICS update for the Note until July. The Bell rep I had on the phone was non-committal about a June release when I talked to her this afternoon (original update schedule for Bell was April....)

That's my gut instinct too. The last thing Samsung wants to do is upstage the roll out of the SGS 3 in North America with allot older devices getting ICS before their new new flagship. I' wouldn't expect an official release before July myself.
 
Again MY avice would be just make the jump. Update the device with the non rooted ICS from XDA. Unless you want to root it then I would say go with the custom OnlyOne Goldie ROM. It's awesome! Either way, have fun with the waiting games...Even if you root your device, or get the UnRooted ICS, after the Official ICS is released, it will be right there for you to get as well!

Could u post up a link our a guide on how to do this? I'm not one to root my phone because I don't use it too crazy but I would like the ics ty
 
because if it's true, we have 3 more weeks to wait until we get official ICS. I had been on the fence thinking it was right around the corner, but made the plunge because I had my doubts about it being released in Q2.
