So where is this huge update?

The way articles read two weeks ago, one would have thought that this major Wear OS update was imminent. And yet...?

Is it an update to the Wear OS app? A system update? Either way, I haven't heard anything about it since it was big news. Now it seems to be no news.

It's imminent - APKmirror has the various versions of Wear OS 2.16, the last version is dated September 26th:
