Help So where's my 4G?

Savage Shadows

I bought my new phone from Boost towards the end of the month, so I only had a few days to wait before my plan changed from the standard Android plan to the Android 4G plan. Before the plan change, I decided to turn on 4G just to see what happens. Antenna turns on, option to scan for service isn't available, still gives you a scan for 4G notification, and so on. But now that my plan has changed, nothing has changed. I've verified that I'm on the 4G plan by checking the Boost website. I've emailed Boost three times about different issues (btw, they have not tried to contact me about a single issue, the first being almost two weeks ago). I've done anything I can think of, including updating my phone's profile. Nothing seems to change my ability to scan for 4G service.

Even though I am on my 4G plan already, I still cannot scan for 4G service. Am I doing something wrong? Has anybody else had this issue? Any advice?

I've been trying to check the coverage map for a couple of days now. Boost's map just won't load a location. It will show the map of the country, then whenever I try to view ANY location, it sits there "loading" indefinitely. I tried checking on Sprint's map, to hopefully get a general idea, but it always brings up an error for me. I'm only having trouble with coverage maps. But regardless of whether there is 4G in my area, shouldn't the option to at least SCAN for 4G be enabled on my phone?

That's weird. I just just checked the coverage map and it worked fine for me. You should try using a different browser or getting javascript. And yes, once you turn on the 4G antenna it should give you a notification on your notification bar saying that the antenna is on, and to tap to scan for 4G. That only happens if it doesn't automatically find 4G. You could manually scan for it by tapping on the notification, and it should scan automatically again. If the "Tap to scan for 4G service" is in black letters, that means it's scanning.

Thanks. I downloaded Firefox just to check, and it ran just fine. I haven't had this problem before with Chrome. I just moved two days after getting the phone. Where I moved from, the only place there isn't any 4G is in the mountains. But in Phoenix, its all scattered strengths of 3G. And yeah, it is in black letters. Thanks for the heads up, was worried there was a problem with my 4G antenna or some software.
