Help Soft keys not lighting

HTTR

Android Enthusiast
Just noticed that my soft keys are not illuminating. I have looked in settings and cannot find a way to adjust this.

Any thoughts?

Power off and on a couple times seemed to fix.the problem.

The Thunderbolt keys are light sensitive. If you wake up the phone from idle and you're in bright light, the keys won't light. Repeat the wake up from idle in the dark and keys light up. Just press the power button each time to see if your phone works the same way.

Yeah you can test this in the light by covering the prox sensor, the lights will illuminate when covered and blackout in the light.

it must have just locked up for a restart...covering did no good, but a couple reboots and no issues since.

Did I hear that ICS will do away with those soft keys??

Nope. Phone that have physical keys will not show the soft ones. Even when ICS is installed from the beginning, a manufacturer can choose whether they want physical keys or software keys.

I prefer the soft keys as to the software keys...I thought they were a bit cumbersome and took up too much space. (although the software keys do look cool)

I have software keys on my tablet and am not impressed with them.
