Help Software update downloaded

A 'software update' was downloaded to my Cricket Wireless SG5 Sept 2016 and wants me to Install it. It doesn't say what it is, where it's from, or give any clue as to what it's for. I texted Cricket about this with no response. Is this legitimate?

If this came via the software update menu (Settings > About > Software Updates) then yes, it's legitimate. If that menu reports no updates then it is not.
