Software update message on startup annoying me

I updated my firmware or whatever from AT&T at least three weeks ago. Now every time I turn my phone on I get the 'congratulations' message from the update program. I tried to stop the update service but it seems to be a startup program now or something. How can I fix this? Thanks.

If not rooted, I'd call the carrier and explain what's happening.

If he's rooted he probably would have had a custom ROM so he wouldn't see any AT&T messages. So yeah, call AT&T

Some rooters don't install custom ROMs. During the process, on a Nexus One for example, one can stop right after "superboot" and have a rooted device with no custom ROM.
