Help Software Update... OTA

While I was out and using packet data there was a software update message that appeared, and it gave me some options whether to install or postpone, so I chose to postpone for 3 hours, later I checked and saw that it had downloaded and was just waiting to be installed, so I waited till I got home and then after clicking on the scheduled updates box and then install I waited for it to complete, I think it took around 15 mins approx.

My question is what actually was this updating? I know it said software, but that covers a vast array, is there anywhere that shows this?

Is there any information on how to root after this update? Can I simply apply the root.zip I used for the JB upgrade again, or will I have to wait for a new patch?

EDIT: Forget it. Took a chance and it worked.
