I have the G6 + and have received a 185mb software update this morning.
The update stated that it was focused on Stability, performance and bugs.
Having rebooted the phone after the update the UI is displaying a number of battery alerts explaining that certain apps are in use and causing battery drain. It also is giving me the option to stop these apps from within the notification centre.
I'll report back later today as to whether this update has an impact on battery life.
