Hi!
Back to the 1st question.
Even i am getting this error message. When i try to upgrade through Wi-Fi at home or office i get this same message. What to do?

Second, currently my galaxy SL GTi9003 is having firmware version 2.2.1 and Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 root@SE-S605 #1 and build number: Froyo.DDKF1

Is this the original launch version? I did try to update it officially but i'm not sure whether i've done it successfully or not!!
I have read abt how gingerbread is unofficially available, but i dont want to take chaces. i want to know if this version that i mentioned above is officially the most recent or not?

and btw i bought this phone in Delhi through samsung dealer.

Thanks u guys

to the 1st question, i believed el presidente has answered it. you cn only do the update through kies. and for gingerbread, you can opt to update manually through the link i posted. i had this done to my phone since august and up until now, i dont have any issues (gingerbread 2.3.4 XXKPE version). two or three days later, XXKPH was released but i did not bother to update to it cause XXKPE was perfect for my phone already. if you decided to do it, just make sure to follow the instructions correctly and itll be fine.

most stable version right now for gingerbread is XXKPM
flash first with XXKPE then XXKPM
you cant flash from froyo to XXKPM directly

ill still stick to XXKPE or XXKPH though cause the model used for this gingerbread version is the i9003 while xxkpm used the samsung GIO. (or is it just me being paranoid.....)

there is a i9003xxkpm
but good news is i heard that GB is now officially available in asia especially our country
now im trying to look for ways to go back to DXKB2 so i can use kies to update to DXKP9
feedbacks mentioned it is very stable... damn :( i want to downgrade back to dxkb2 but how

hmmm, thats weird
heard it was available thru kies already if you have stock DXKB2 rom
i tried to download stock DXKB2 rom but it appears to be just 1 file
im afraid to flash 1 files when downgrading versions
looking for a full file for dxkb2

Hi. Iv been using xxkpm on i9003 4 abt a month now. Its stable. Way beter dan Froyo in terms speed & visuals. Flashed it manually. Links are at xda developers site..
