Sold the Esteem

Samsung is offering "up to $300" toward the price of a GS3 here. They offered me $70 for my Esteem. I'll think I'll keep it for now lol.

lol u can sell it for more than that basically what they doing and every other cellphone compnay are doing is recycling everything from the lcs screens to the hard plastic casing to the circuit boards, if ya think about it why are there companies online that say they will buy your old phone? thats cuz they sell it back to the cellphone making companies and earn money off them. but anyways yea your better off selling it to someone.

That's not the ONLY reason companies purchase cell phones. Now this pertains to older phones, but most cell phones contain trace amounts of gold " in very small portions ."

so in theory ...if a company can get you to turn in your old device rather than throwing it out they can make some serious cash in just recycling for the precious metals.

The average phone contains 24mg of gold, 250 mg of sliver,9000 mg of copper, 3800 mg of cobalt and 9mg of palladium.

Much cheaper just to collect the old phones and recycle for the precious metals.... rather than mining for it!!
