Solid blue LED

Yesterday I just picked up the S5 and so far I absolutely love this phone. However, every now and again when I lock my phone, I notice that the notification LED is solid blue. It's almost as if I have a modifications waiting for something.

I just got rid of the Galaxy Note 3 and this phone also did that every now and again. Someone suggested in another thread to someone else that the phone is probably faulty. Another guy did a factory reset to fix this.

I'm having a hard time believing that this would require a factory reset or swapping out phones. I honestly can't tell you how long it lasts either because I usually just forget about it.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Hmm, you might indeed have notifications waiting, but I'm not familiar with your device, so I've moved it to the main S5 area so those that are might be able to help you out.

Cheers and best of luck!

Well, Green is for missed Text Messages.

Red is for charging.

Blue IIRC is for missed calls. But I just searched the entire 275 page User Manual for the word 'Blue' and it does not appear. Odd.

Okay, if you go to Settings and click on the 'Search' feature (magnifying glass) and enter 'blu' you can see where it says "Notifications". The Blue LED blinks when you have missed calls, messages, or app notifications "while the screen is OFF".

I'm on Verizon and text messages leave me a Green light.

That doesnt get to the source as to why it is solid blue. When u get notifications they blink not stay on solid.

do you have it set for reminders of missed events such as remind u of missed calls etc. Maybe thats the behavior, I dont know cause I dont set it up. Could be worth looking into

I'd probably call Samsung customer service.

Pretty good chance they can tell you in two seconds.

Or you could install Lite Flow and customise the LED colors/setting to you heart's content.

i had an issue with my s4 day 1 where my phone would not connect to my computer via usb. tried everything i could possible think of, but the only thing that fixed it was a factory reset. what im getting at is the phone can act normal in every way but until a factory reset i wouldn't bother making phone calls yet about the issue.

Not sure why I haven't replied just yet. May have missed the notifications.

Anyways, I haven't noticed this issue in awhile now. I haven't changed anything, so I'm still not quite sure what's the cause of it.

Thanks everyone for your feedback regarding this issue.
