Help SOLUTION: USB connection on any Win 7 PC post JB update

I was tearing my hair out the last couple days since, post JB update, I was not able to have any of my Win 7 devices connect to my GS3 via USB. I would plug it in and the phone would only charge. I read through, on this forum and others, various other solutions; which involved clearing the cache for all apps, factory resets, other things. I thought doing a factory reset in order to fix was unacceptable.

So this is what I did...navigated to here: Support - AT&T Cell Phones SGH-I747 | Samsung Cell Phones

Clicked on See all downloads, clicked on software; downloaded the USB driver and installed it. Rebooted the PC/laptop.

POWERED off my GS3 and did a BATTERY pull.

Reinserted battery...powered on GS3, waited for lock screen. Connected USB to PC/laptop. Device drivers started installing...was successful. UNPLUGGED USB from PC/laptop and then re-inserted.

Viola...Win 7 device seen my GS3 device/storage. Ran Kies...no problems. I am VERY pleased.

I just put this out there in case anyone else has had a similar problem.

Let me just add, maybe the driver installation is unnecessary...I successfully connected by USB from another device (Win 7 work laptop) w/o installing the drivers from the link above. Perhaps only a battery pull is necessary.
