Help (Solved) How do I set a mp3 as my message notification?

I can use winamp to set my phone ringtone but how do I use my own MP3 as a sms notification? I tried putting it in a folder named notifications as well as ringtones but it still doesn't come up in the list.

Thanks

I put mp3's in my notifications folder all the time and they show up just fine. Are you certain you're placing them in the notifications folder on the internal memory and not the external SD card?

Thank you! I was putting it it the internal memory, but in /media/audio/notifications. Once I created a notifications directory in the internal memory's root folder it works! Now I can get it to work on the external SD card too, I just created the folders on the root of the card and it works.

Thanks again!

Yeah it came with that SDCARD\Media\Notifications\ folder already on it but I always put both my Ringtones and Notifications to the SDCARD main directory. Not the actual "ROOT" Directory though which is above SDCARD and SDCARD2 which are in Root\mnt\.

Yeah I forgot the root\mnt part. SD card main directory is a better description, it won't confuse people. It is strange to me that they just don't name the internal storage directory something else though because it's not actually an SD card is it? It just shows up as USB storage when I connect it to my laptop.
