Help [SOLVED]Link2sd not working, Write protect help.

Okay I hope someone can help. I have searched the net everywhere and cannot find a solid solution. I am have 2 issues. First off, I am using an HTC Desire 510, that I rooted successfully.

Now the first issue is, my new Sandisk sd card wont mount correctly unless I do a quickboot, after the error message saying it wont mount. After a quick boot, under storage, it shows my partitions and seems to work just fine. Apps install straight from Google Play to my sd card. How can I get it to just work, instead of it failing after a regular boot?

Now.. The biggest pain in the ass, is ever since I installed link2sd and configured my SD card, I am constantly getting the "android.process.media has stopped working unexpectedly." I have cleared play services cache and a few others, and I can't really tell if it is working or not. I read online to go to "application manager", but apparently, my version of Android 4.4.2 no longer has this.

I can live with the 1st error because I really never reboot my phone. (would still like it fixed) But the 2nd error is driving me nuts and interferring with everything I do on my phone. Any ideas? Thanks!!

32 or 64bit. Who's your carrier? The HTC Desire 510 has a write protected system. This is at Kernel level so rooting has limited effect. There are custom Kernels available. Just not for every variant.

Do you have TWRP installed? Did you unlock the Bootloader through HTC-Dev?

I'm not so sure Link2SD is the only suspect in this case. ;)

32 and sprint and yes the bootloader is unlocked from their website via the token I copied=pasted. I notice I get no sound on messaging or incoming calls unless I uncheck stuff in link2sd. I think it is moving android sound (media!) files it shouldn't?

No twrp that I know of. thanks

hmm my phone wont seem to charge now. Haven't installed anything else yet.

*nevermind. re-inserted battery now charging correctly

I can't install twrp. Well it is but when I try to start it, it says "busybox not installed, click ok" but does nothing. When I try to install busybox manually, and then enter it, it ither basically tells me no, and to pick another location, or it crashes my phone and resets.

Inside twrp, it says that this recovery version is installed. But when I enter my phones boot mode (the colorful dos looking txt with the aliens on the bottom) there is no green "recovery" option. Ugg

I think I might have it. I have the b.img file already for the write protection remove kernal. I guess just put it on my phone, navigate to it, and flash it?

Edit- went into boot mode (dos thing :) and now I see the green "recovery" under fastboot.

*edit* but... when i highlight hboot, it says something like no img file. This is so frusterating

I have the img file on my phone but twrp wont find it because it is not a zip. If I zipped it then will twrp find it, and unzip/install the img? The kernal write protect img

I tried to flash the b.img (take write protection off) with another program called flashifly and it says cannot load the file.. I may just quit before I break something. Thank you for trying to help!

You don't need flashify. That is why you have TWRP. Go to the playstore and download "simple reboot" see if it will boot you into recovery mode. Not Fastboot.

It's sideways and it's an LG, but you get the point.

I can't find the img in twrp. It tells me to find zip files, and the only zip it finds is supersu, which even that crashes when I try to update it. Ill keep working on it lol. Thanks for all of your help. I will be back later. :)

I selected recovery and booted into teamwin. it shows a list of grey buttons. install backup wipe restore mount etc etc.

I will search for the b.img in a bit, I want to charge my phone up a little just in case. Thanks a ton for the help.
